Emilio Parrado-Hernandez

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Signal Processing and Communications at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. I am a member of the G2PI (Group of Information Management and Processing), lead by Prof. Manel Martinez-Ramon.

My research touches several topics of Machine Learning and Signal Processing. On the fundamental research side, I have worked on Kernel Methods (Support Vector Machines, spectral clustering) and in the understanding of such algorithms through Statistical Learning Theory (PAC-Bayes framework). Now I am moving to the analysis of sequential data and time series. On the applications domain, I have done some data mining and currently  focusing on the analysis of multimedia data (speech, music) and of MRI brain scans with medical purposes.

This year I am teaching "Circuits and Systems" to Telecommunication Engineering undergrads, plus "Advanced Signal Processing” in the Masters in Multimedia and Communications program.

I have been involved in the organization of these events along 2012:

  1. Bullet Machine Learning Summer School at La Palma, Spain

  2. BulletIEEE Workshop on Machine Learning for Signal Processing, MLSP 2012
