Electronic of Comunications Laboratory
Electronic of Communications Laboratory Practical Work Guide:
Introduction
This course is divided into 2 distinct sections:
Practical Work of Analog Electronics
Practical works 1 and 2. The aim of these practical works is to apply knowledge acquired in the subject of Electronic Communications. It will implement basic communication circuits for analog modulations. Will be analyzed mixers, basic amplifiers and carrier recovery systems based on PLL.
DSP-Based Practical work
Practical Works 3,4 and 5. The aim of these practices is an introduction to digital signal processing based on special purpose DSP processors from Texas Instruments 320TMSC64C. Communications systems will be implemented, where the modulator / demodulator, filters, etc … be designed an implemented using software designed in C language. We will discuss the characteristics, applications and programming techniques of digital filters and mathematical operations on data acquired in real time via analog->digital and digital-> analog converters.
Evaluation
The evaluation of this course will be held from written reports of the practices carried out.
The percentages of evaluation are:
- Practical Works, 1,2,4 and 5: 70%
- Final Practical Work: 30%
The final practical work will serve as final exam. To pass this laboratory DEFEND FINAL PRACTICAL WORK IS MANDATORY . The deadline for the defense of this practical work and the practical work memories 4 and 5 will be the working day preceding the date scheduled for the examination of this laboratory in the ordinary call for the academic year 2009/2010.
If the defense does not be performed within the established time limits, the period of defense will be extended until the scheduled date for extraordinary call for the academic year 2009/2010, postponing the issuance of the note for that call.
The scoring of final practical work consist of 3 phases:
- Oral defense of the settlement of final practice, demonstrating that it has fulfilled the objectives required of the practical work .
- Written defense of the settlement of the final practical work.
- Written memory of the practical work.
Laboratory Rules
Attendance at lab is mandatory.
We will work in groups of 2 people, maximum 10 groups per session. If any of the members can not attend the lab, the group should replace the session by attending another round where they had working posts available.
Circuits 1 and 2 practices should be implemented before the commencement of hour class by students.
