I am an Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) with the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Spain.
I received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering (with distinction) and the Ph.D.
degree in electrical engineering both from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 2004 and 2009,
respectively. From June 2010 until May 2012 I was a Marie Curie Intra-European Research Fellow
with the University of Cambridge, UK. I joined the Signal Processing Group of UC3M in June 2012.
I am a Senior Member of the IEEE. I was serving as Vice Chair of the
Spain Chapter of the IEEE Information Theory Society from 2013-2016, and I am serving as the chapter's Chair in 2020-2023. I am also serving as Associate Editor for Communications and Shannon Theory for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.
